The "Intimate Café Program" developed from an idea of grouping together songs that had been conceived for performance in settings more intimate than the concert hall.  Songs originally composed for cabarets, supper clubs, salons, piano bars, nightclubs, "hootenannies," and movies and plays are included in this type of program.
