Catholic Weddings

The Mission San Diego de Alcala, California’s first church, is a beautiful, peaceful, and popular location for Catholic weddings. In her capacity as soprano soloist at The Mission, Ms. Cawood is an integral participant in many marriage celebrations each year, offering her services as a vocalist and by assisting couples in selecting liturgically appropriate music.

In addition to weddings at The Mission de Alcala, Ms. Cawood often is employed for weddings in other Catholic parishes, including The Immaculata, Founders’ Chapel, All Hallows, St. Michael’s, and Our Lady of Angels.

Non-Catholic Weddings

Equally at home in providing vocal music for non-Catholic weddings, Ms. Cawood has sung at marriage celebrations at Episcopal, Presbyterian, Methodist, and Unity churches and at non-denominational services at Naval and Marine chapels, the Westgate, Horton Grand, and U. S. Grant hotels, and La Jolla’s Athenaeum.

Outdoor Weddings

Outdoor weddings are fashionable in San Diego because the area offers a wealth of scenic locations and excellent weather. Ms. Cawood has been the soloist at outdoor weddings at The Hotel Del Coronado, The Princess Resort, The Torrey Pines Hilton, The Meridian Hotel, at private and public gardens, and even on the beach! At outdoor weddings musical accompaniment is generally provided by a pianist using an electric keyboard or organ or by a string or brass ensemble.
